In war there are no winners, the civilians and soldiers pay the price for the people in power. Throughout history no matter which war it is/was, the end result was death and suffering. There is no positive result when it comes to war even for the "winning" side because people are bound to die and suffer as a consequence, while the few in power and businessmen doing arms trade make profit. When it comes to war, I feel most people never see the big picture where both sides will lose. The general public are so easily manipulated by people in power either through propaganda or just fancy words, people throw away their lives just so the rich can fill their pockets. Even today how America claims to be fighting a war on terrorism, it's just so people make profits. For instance, Dick Cheney made almost 40billion USD from Iraq war and we're nowhere close to ending what we started. Soldiers are sent to the front lines but they're not fighting terrorist or anything, they're just being used by people with power to secure natural resources and profit. It's a never ending cycle, Obama administration pushed for the withdrawal of troops in Iraq and now recently America sent more troops into Afghanistan, of course to "fight for our country". Ultimately this cycle of war will never end, where there's profit there's war.
Question: When it comes to war we always hear the saying "we fight for our country", do you believe in this saying? why/why not?
