This protagonist I believed to be around 30 years old considering in Japan a woman who is over 25 years old and hasn't been married is not a good candidate for marriage. I can sorta understand the protagonist frustration with her life married to the man who was already marry to another woman. She met this woman and received a slap for saying something harsh at someone who lost her husband love for this woman in front of her. I find her sympathetic in my personal opinion because marriage life isn't what you expect it to be its almost never is. She only cares for the most beautiful or satisfying things revolving around her life and is somewhat naive when it comes to a woman 'responsibility' as a married woman. However I can sympathize with her because there is some feelings especially in marriage that plague one's mind of loneliness, anxiety if the man might be cheating, disagreement over little things, loss of mutual love, etc. Marriage is super important because our life begins to revolve around a single person at first and then becomes a much grander picture when children are born. In this case the protagonist doesn't have any children so I can come in terms with this moment before having children that its okay to feel mysterious vague feeling. I think it is perfectly natural.
Discussion Question: What do you think of marriage on a personal level not what others judge (like family members)?
